Here is what to expect, start to finish.
An implant replaces both the root and the visible tooth, so it looks, feels, and works like a natural tooth.
We numb the area first. You will feel pressure, but you should not feel pain.
A small titanium post is placed in the jawbone, right where the old root used to be.
Over the next few months, the bone grows around the post and locks it firmly in place.
A small piece called an abutment is attached to the post. It will hold your new tooth.
A custom crown, made to match your other teeth, is attached to the abutment.
Keep the gums around your implant healthy with good daily habits.
Your dental team is happy to walk you through every step before, during, and after your visit.
General information only. Your dentist will tailor care to your tooth and your needs.
