CBCT / 3D Imaging in Glen Rose, TX
A quick, low-dose 3D scan that shows your teeth, roots, nerves and jawbone so we can plan your care precisely.

What it is
CBCT 3D imaging at Polished Family Dental in Glen Rose
CBCT stands for cone beam computed tomography. Regular dental X-rays are flat, two-dimensional pictures. A CBCT scan takes a series of images as the scanner turns around your head and combines them into a 3D model of your teeth, roots, nerves, sinuses and jawbone.
That 3D view lets our dentists measure bone, see where nerves run and spot problems a flat X-ray can miss, so treatment is planned with more accuracy and fewer surprises. At our Glen Rose office on 104 Spanish Oak Trail, we use 3D imaging when a closer look will help your care, for patients from Glen Rose, Somervell County, Granbury, Stephenville and nearby.

Safe and comfortable
Low dose, quick and easy.
A focused dental CBCT scan uses a low dose of radiation, much lower than a medical CT scan. There are no needles, no numbing and nothing to swallow. We only recommend a scan when a 3D view will help your diagnosis or treatment.
Paying for care
Insurance, membership and financing.
We accept most PPO plans and file your claims. No insurance? The Polished Membership Plan covers preventive care at 100% and takes 20% off treatment. Cherry financing and in-office payment plans can spread out the cost.
Questions

Yes. A dental CBCT scan uses a low dose of radiation, much lower than a medical CT scan. We only recommend one when the 3D view will help your diagnosis or treatment.
Does it hurt?
No. There are no needles or numbing. You just hold still while the scanner turns around your head, usually for less than a minute.
How is CBCT different from regular X-rays?
Regular dental X-rays show a flat, 2D picture. CBCT shows your teeth, bone and nerves in 3D, so we can see depth, angles and exact measurements.
