Getting a Dental Bridge

What the video covers

1. Here's what to expect when you get a dental bridge.
2. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by attaching to the teeth on either side. It stays in place, so you never have to take it out.
3. Filling the gap matters. A missing tooth makes chewing harder, and over time, nearby teeth can drift or tilt into the open space.
4. First, we'll numb the area so you stay comfortable. You may feel some pressure, but you shouldn't feel any pain.
5. Next, the teeth on each side are gently reshaped, so crowns can fit over them.
6. Then a digital scan, or an impression, captures your teeth and your bite, so the bridge fits exactly.
7. While your permanent bridge is being made, a temporary one keeps those teeth protected.
8. When it's ready, we check the fit, your bite, and the color, then cement your bridge onto the anchor teeth.
9. To care for it, brush twice a day, and clean under the false tooth daily with a floss threader or a water flosser. And keep up with your regular checkups.
